Developer Axie Infinity launched a bounty program to find vulnerabilities

1 min

The company behind the blockchain game Axie Infinity, Sky Mavis, has launched a bounty program for finding security vulnerabilities in the ecosystem after a more than $600 million hack.

The size of the reward for found errors in the blockchain and smart contracts will be from $1,000 to $1 million, depending on the severity.

For vulnerabilities in the interfaces of the website and application, the company will pay from $50 to $15,000. The reward also depends on the level of threat.

Sky Mavis said “extraordinary” bug reports would receive an added bonus.

The Axie Infinity team will make payments under the program in AXS tokens. There is a six-month vesting period for the maximum amounts.

What is Axie Infinity?

At the end of March, it became known about the hacking of the Ronin sidechain involved in the game. The hacker withdrew 173,600 ETH and 25.5 million USDC worth over $600 million.

Sky Mavis promised users to compensate for the losses. In early April, the company raised $150 million for this purpose from a group of investors led by Binance.

Recall, Sky Mavis expects to return at least part of the stolen funds over the next two years.
