Moldova intends to terminate the contract with Gazprom

President Maia Sandu and the leading Action and Solidarity party intend to terminate the agreements with Gazprom, RBC reports with reference to former President Igor Dodon.

Dodon argues that direct purchases from a Russian oil and gas company do not allow for the implementation of “gray schemes”, in which gas is also purchased from Russia, but through “dubious companies”.

In August, the Moldovan authorities aggravated relations with Moscow, saying that there were no funds to pay for gas supplies. The Russian side has not yet responded to the request for a delay.
